After previously going through a divorce, and discovering just how dishonest a woman can be, I have considered conducting an experiment with regards to rumors. My subjects have been selected, and there will be 3 groups.
Subject 1. A control, male, that will have genuine interest within the group of people to share a rumor.
Subject 2. A female outside of the group, married to a member of the group, with interest in spreading the rumor.
Subject 3. A female, that will essentially be a part of the rumor, but will be specifically asked not to provide some personal information about me.
In this experiment, it is important to note that all rumors will be about me, and partially true. Partially true is the key, subject 3, is a young age (19 or 20), and I will have to make her think that I like her, but she will not be hurt by this, as I am positive she has no interest in me, and if she does, my lack of interest in god will take care of that.
Subject 1, will be presented with the rumor 5 days before subject 3 is presented with the rumor.
Subject 2, will be presented with the rumor 3 days before subject 3 is presented with the rumor.
Subject 3 will be presented with the rumor 5 days after subject 1.
The problem(s) that occur here, are that knowing about subject 3′s dishonesty, and telling my secret, will be easy to discover because there are very few people it needs to go through to get to me. Subject 1, is also a problem, because he is a friend, and as a result, more than likely will not tell anyone about my “secret.” Subject 2, will present the longest chain of people, because she is outside of the group, but as a female, she “should,” in theory present the information to her husband quickly; which will introduce the information to a neutral male that neither likes, nor hates me. I will have to play “innocent” with subject 3, and make myself look a particular way, in order for this to work. The idea is to ensure that Subject 3 has no interest in me, and to “act” like I “might” have an interest in her. She will more than likely gossip within 2 days.
I understand the moral dilemma here, but this is what happens when an intelligent person gets bored. I understand the weakness in such an experiment, due to that lack of people involved, and the lack of a group of all females, but this is all I can do to set this up for now. I am certain that my hypothesis will be correct though, and although I may, in the end, get made fun of, I rarely give any concern to the thoughts of others. Using the results from all the subjects, and the data gathered, I intend to devise a formula for the growth of gossip for both male and female, and how quickly these subject(s), break my confidentiality.
On a extra note, due to this experiment being conducted in the area that it is conducted in, it will be interesting to see if any of the professional “people” get involved, and whether they put an end to the “rumor” or if they “spread” the rumor.
